Sooooo, it’s been a while! Too many birthdays, holidays and vacations to count. Not to mention all the other random stuff that life throws at you on a daily basis. So, rather than trying to catch up, lets just skip gaily over the last 12 months and start fresh, shall we? In the spirit of that mentality, and since some of you have asked to see pictures of this… may I present the latest fun project we have accomplished at the house- our master bath renovation! It has been a long time coming; we started in October and it took over 2 months to complete, (finished on December 23rd!) but it’s all done and boy, it’s a beauty. We found a great contractor who listened to what we wanted and did a really nice, detail-oriented job for us. I had a lot of fun playing “mini general contractor/designer” in that I chose all the fixtures, tile, finishes, paint, hardware, etc… and used my dad’s account at a few places to buy the stuff (and we saved the markup cost- woot woot!) Mark’s input was also taken into account- but luckily, we pretty much love exactly the same things and once I showed him the stuff I was thinking would work, he agreed. I guess that’s what 10 years of marriage gets you (oh, yeah! We also celebrated THAT a few months ago, too. Yay, us!)
Back to the bathroom- I have posted a bunch of pictures- starting with the BEFORE shots, as you really need to revisit it in all it’s 1988 glory before you can see the transformation. (Yes, the house WAS built in 1995, but the builder just had really good taste I guess. Or something.) So take a look, and if anyone is thinking of undertaking a renovation project and needs help deciding on the “look” and figuring out exactly everything that you factor in – I’m available for hire!
Oh, and just so I am not a total deadbeat on the “mommy” front: kids are doing great! School reports cards are all thumbs up, Max is losing teeth, Sophie still has her braces, they are taking ski lessons right now (we area having a great year for snow!) and we are all looking forward to our trip to Maui next month. And I PROMISE to blog with pics about that one!
