Happy (birthday) and Merry (Christmas)and festive etcetera, too…

Hi everyone…. decided that a good resolution for 2018 would be to TRY to keep this blog a little more “as currant” so to speak. So in an effort to do that, I am offering up a plethora of pic from over the last couple of weeks. Max’s birthday with my folks, a white Christmas at home, plus various festive fun things on the water and up in the mountains (Christmas ships! Ice skating! Other random but fun stuff!) Take a peek and Happy New Year!!

The Licorice Stick

Hello! And welcome back… I kid because it’s been a minute (or thousands) since I’ve posted. Nothing like the need to “Mom brag”

to spur on the desire to post a blog. Last night Sophie had her first solo at the winter band concert! She selected her own piece and had to try out for the honor. This is her 2nd year in the school band and in between this and piano, we have a pretty musical house! Take a look below – we’re pretty proud of her!

A tale of two parties

And no, I’m not talking politics. I’m talking birthdays! A 10th birthday to be exact! Sophie turned 10 and we celebrated! First with family- a small day-of dinner party, presents from near and far, and a cheesecake and later on the weekend with 8 girlfriends, a build your own taco bar, more presents and a funfetti cake that got demolished by 9 wisps of girls and one little brother. Success! Take a gander at the pics and the video

The final days of summer break…

In just over a week, it’s back to school time for the kids! We are trying to eek out every last ounce of fun and so today we did something totally fun and a little nuts. There is this thing floating off a beach in our neighborhood and it looks like this:

The Swim Gym Waterpark!

And for $20/hour per person you can swim out to it and leap, swing, dive,  jump and flip yourself into a tizzy! And so we did. It was great!
Here are some pics of out fun on this hot Friday afternoon…later on Daddy came home early and we went out for an afternoon swim and picnic on the boat. Viva la summer!

Here’s a very short movie I made of the kids and their antics…Check out the fun!

Final flings…

What the kids did on vacation…

So, while Mark and I were parked on the beach in our well traveled, comfy beach chairs, occasionally prying our fingers off our Kindles (and our drinks) to take a refreshing dip, the kids were pretty busy spending their time honing their “surf” skills. I made a short film to show you.  Go ahead, take a look…

That time we said “hi” to Hawaii…

We were lucky again this April to get to take a trip to one of our most favorite places on Earth…Hawaii!  We went back to our old stomping ground on Maui.. and it was a great trip.  The weather was mostly good, but even if it’s a little cloudy or “sprinkley,” the warm (and at times HOT) weather is always fantastic.  Throw in the gorgeous clear blue ocean, the soft sandy beaches, a whole lot of Rumbabahs, some great fish tacos, (okay, a LOT of fish tacos…) a couple of boogie-boarding fools, as well as some intersecting vacations with my parents and sister and her beau, and you have a magnificent vacation!  Here is a slide show I put together of some of the many things we did….

The dry days are upon us…

Summer is here and the living is….expensive if you want your yard to live. No real rain since early May and even then it was one day of wet weather. Temps in the 80s to 90s are pretty normal right now which is crazy. Unfortunately all the trees are revolting the dry weather by dropping all their leaves… Good fun for the kids however….

Yup. It’s June. Only about 4 months too early.
