Ski Kids

Well, you’ll have to pardon me here, I am having perhaps too much fun with the macbook (gasp, I know, Mark pretends he can’t see it) but I have another little “movie” for you to view.  It was from 2 weekends ago when we were all up skiing.  As you can see, the weather was pretty fantastic.  It was almost too warm to ski, but we muddled through somehow. 😉  Who knew you would need sunblock in February!

Anyway… here is a short snippet of the kids skiing.  We just finished up their 6 week lessons yesterday and they both did a good job of improving.  Everyone can safely ride a chairlift on their own, and Max can manage the basic bunny hills just fine and Sophie has advanced enough where she can ski some intermediate  hills and has more than just your basic “pizza wedge” skills under her belt.  We really lucked out with great weather this season; we had 4 out of 6 bluebird days (which is RARE in the winter here in the Pac NW) so I am not holding out hope that the snow will stick around late this year. We are going to try to get up at least once more this season and then after that… it’s BOATING time! 🙂

  1. Hi Kaley

Thanks for all the great pics and videos over the past two months – they are fantastic and we enjoy seeing them immensely! Also pleased that you and the family have got over the bad winter colds and well on the way to optimum health and spring time !! We have had mid to high 30 degrees every days for a few weeks now and quite hot indeed with very little rain again. Wont be long though and the autumn chills will be blowing in – after a long steadily very warm summer, I don’t think we are going to mind ! Little Oscar is pretty fabulous, so congratulations to you and Mark on the birth of your new nephew and to Max and Sophie on the arrival of their cousin. We have had a hectic few months since Leo’s 80 year old mum decided to fall in her back yard in early December and proceed to lie there under the apricot tree for 3 days and nights, despite having a personal alarm and nothing being broken – clearly onset of dementia, but it was pretty horrendous and she is a living miracle to have pulled through not having had water or food for 3 days and it being 38 degrees! She is still in hospital on the other side of Melbourne, so Leo has been travelling every day to see her and do her washing etc. She still has an open wound that is proving very stubborn. We are hoping she will come out of hospital by the end of the month, having been there for almost 3 months. She won’t be going back home so the next thing will be settling her into a nursing home – ay yay yay!! All the best Gina & Leo
