And now it’s Max’s turn…

This past week we finally got to send Max off to preschool for his second year.  He was very excited and was frankly a little tired of waiting after seeing Sophie get to ride the bus while he stayed home.  Monday was his first day and I got to go up with him and hang around as a way to sort of re-introduce the kids back into preschool life (and there were some kids who were coming to preschool for the very first time.)  Anyway, as you’ll see below, he got right into the swing of things, and was happy to see some of his old classmates again!  Max will go 3 mornings a week, and will even get to carpool a bit with our neighbors as they also have a little boy in another preschool class up at our school.  So, take a look at the slideshow/gallery below.  It might be “back to school” but the weather has really been “Indian Summer” for sure…. no complaints from us, as we need to stockpile the sunshine for the long, grey, cold and wet slog of winter!

The lazy days of summer….

Well, it’s been a while since I have posted anything…sorry about that! It seemed
Iike we were waiting forever for the summer to start and the once it did we have been busy enjoying it! So, this is a catch up post to say the least. I am also posting this for the iPad for the first time…if its as easy as I hope it’s, it should bode well for more frequent posts in the future. So, what have we been up to? We’ve been out on the boat somewhat, but the weather doesn’t always seem to cooperate on the weekends…Sophie is trying to learn to ride he bike without training wheels and Max has his own big boy bike as well. It’s a good thing as the little balance bike he was riding was so small for him his knees dragged on the ground! We’ve been to my folks house or some picnics/dinners/garden walks, and spent some time at the beach as well. Max has started swim lessons now and just the other day was able to swim about 5 feet all by himself-so we are getting the slowly. Phew. I can’t wait until both kids are strong swimmers! Sophie is swimming off the boat without her lifejacket, but only when Mark or I are in the water with her. Both kids also did some summer camps too…Soph did a really cool camp through the pacific science center that was all about dinosaurs and archeology and Max did one about bugs. They both seemed to like it and now, the school supply shopping has been done and we are less than 3 weeks away from the start of school! So, with that, here are some pictures of what we’ve been up to!
