At long last, the day I couldn’t really imagine coming, is here. BOTH kids are in school, the same school, together, at the same time. YIPPEE!!! Sophie started two days ago, but as they stagger the start for the new kindergarteners, Max had to wait the extra 2 days until it was his turn to go. And boy, they were l-o-n-g!! But, he made it! Max got to ride the big bus with his sister and all the other kids. I met him up at school to go into his class with him for a few minutes to sort school supplies, then when his teacher, Miss Peterson, called them to go sit on the carpet, I got one really big wave (the pic in in the gallery below) and off I went. Not a tear from me this time around (Max, I still love you just as much as your sister, I swear…) probably because he was so incredibly excited to finally get to go to kindergarten that I was too excited to even be a little sad that he is growing up. It’s all good. 🙂 After his “half day” was over, he got on the bus and came home. He was all smiles and energy after his first day… the first words off the bus? “Mom… I LOVED it!” Then he proceeded to eat an entire tray of sushi for lunch, so all that learning really made him hungry. Check out the pictures below… I think they are pretty cute!!
- All ready for school!
- Walking to the bus.
- Smile for Mommy!
- We were the first ones at the bus stop. By about 15 minutes.
- Lining up!
- Wave goodbye to mom!
- Max came running off the bus towards the crosswalk… was he excited?
- The lady in black is Ms. Garcia, the pricipal, walking them to their line up spot before the first bell rings.
- Waiting for the bel to ring so we can go insidel!
- Hanging up his coat and bag… the first time he looked a little less than super excited.
- At his desk!
- This boy was shy, Max shook his hand and told him his name, and then had to lean way over to hear what his name was… “Sean.”
- Then they chatted about stuff.
- Getting ready for their carpet chat!
- Bye Mom!! He looks pretty happy to be there, don’t you think?
- Here comes the bus… is he on it?
- Here he is!
- “I loved it!”
- Barely in the door and he already has to show me his “papers”…
- Sophie on her first day. Riorrrrwww.
- More first day silliness.
- Elementary school goofballs.
